Engineering services provider establishes dedicated development centre to advance 5G networks, intelligent automation, and AI infrastructure.
L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has secured a five-year contract with Nokia to support the Finnish telecommunications titan’s engineering and research and development operations in India. According to a stock exchange filing, the collaboration combines LTTS’s engineering capabilities with Nokia’s advanced telecoms technologies across product engineering, software development, system integration, and lifecycle support.
As part of the agreement, LTTS will set up a dedicated Offshore Development Centre (ODC) in India focused on next-generation compute and artificial intelligence infrastructure. The centre aligns with LTTS’s “Lakshya 31” strategic growth plan, bringing data-centre-grade compute engineering to next-generation telecommunications platforms.
LTTS will also form a specialized engineering team in India to support Nokia’s global Technology Centre. Scope of work encompasses 5G network design, intelligent automation, AI-driven operations, embedded systems, and new product development under an integrated operating model.
“As a leader in AI infrastructure, Nokia’s continued investment in R&D is essential to developing the advanced connectivity technologies that will power the AI supercycle,” stated Vivek Jaiswal, Senior Vice-President of Engineering at Nokia. “India is an important innovation hub for Nokia, and LTTS is a critical partner that will bring engineering expertise and mechanisms to help us expand our R&D footprint.”
Alind Saxena, Executive Director and President of Strategic Initiatives & Growth Markets at LTTS, noted that the deal represents a major milestone for the firm’s Technology Segment, highlighting strong client trust in its “Engineering Intelligence” model and deep-tech capabilities across intelligent data centres and future communications networks.
