The electronics design agent launches “Epsilon” V1 platform as weekly active users surge 25-fold following backing from Neon Fund.
CopperPilot, an artificial intelligence agent designed to automate electronics hardware engineering, has closed a $390,000 pre-seed funding round led by Neon Fund, with additional participation from US-based angel investors. The startup has logged a 25-fold increase in weekly active users since August 2026, with more than 6,000 design artifacts processed on its platform to date. Parallel to the funding announcement, CopperPilot officially released “Epsilon”, the first version of its flagship hardware design agent.
Founded in October 2025 by Aditya NG, Mohit Bagur, and Anish Harsha, CopperPilot targets the $20.93 billion Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software market. The platform addresses long-standing bottlenecks in circuit board engineering, where traditional processes—from initial schematics to ordering prototype boards—typically take 6 to 15 weeks and cost between $7,500 and $30,000. CopperPilot reduces this workflow to a matter of hours by converting natural-language prompts directly into manufacturing-ready circuit board designs.
The software operates natively within established engineering tools, starting with KiCad alongside early support for Altium and LTspice. It also integrates as a plugin for leading AI coding environments, including Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, enabling developers to delegate hardware design directly from their code editors. To showcase its capabilities, the company has published 30 open-source KiCad-inspectable board designs on LinkedIn, releasing a new build daily.
“On almost every autonomous vehicle team I worked with, someone would eventually say: a compute unit for six cameras is too hard to design, or a drive-by-wire unit is too much for us,” said Aditya NG, Co-founder and CEO of CopperPilot. “I built CopperPilot so that no hardware team is ever blocked because a board is too hard to design. Today it designs an AI camera board in about 30 minutes.”
Siddhartha Ahluwalia, Managing Partner at Neon Fund, noted that whilst AI coding agents have transformed software development, hardware engineering has remained hampered by manual component selection and costly board re-spins. Endorsing the platform, Andrei Danescu, Co-founder and CEO of robotics firm Dexory, added that tools like CopperPilot shrink hardware iteration cycles from months down to days.
Headquartered in the US with an engineering hub in Bengaluru, India, CopperPilot serves clients across the US, UK, and Europe. The newly raised capital will be deployed towards product research, engineering enhancements to improve the AI agent’s reliability, and expanding its technical team in the coming months. Target growth sectors include consumer electronics, renewables, robotics, IoT, and electric vehicles.
