Here’s a ‘solar tent’ that will use the sun’s energy to charge smartphones, tablets, GPS tools and camera while keeping you safe from the scorching heat and dust. The tent is powered by Katabatic technology and would be a great companion on a hike. This could be the camping product that many have been waiting for long. No extra burden, but it provides more opportunity than a normal tent.
The Katabatic tent has been designed and marketed by Eddie Bauer in association with Goal Zero. The solar ray soaking fabric used for the top cover of the tent absorbs sunlight from all directions and converts it into usable electricity that can power a range of electronic devices. Joe Atkin, CEO, Goal Zero, informs that this new product will allow users to take the advantage of technology in making their camping expeditions easier. Even in the remotest of locations, this tent will help keep all the gadgets charged and ready to use.
The tent, on the other hand measures 233.7-cm (92-inch) in height and offers 36 sq ft. of shelter area. Weighting a mere 8 pounds, it is suitable for all weather conditions. Priced at $599, the solar tent provides a range of opportunities that one wouldn’t want to miss while camping.
