Friday, November 08, 2013: Reportedly, the first country-specific industrial hub will be rolling out in Bengaluru soon. The Taiwan Hardware Park will emerge in a land near Devanahalli, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, which has been allotted by the state government.
So far a software hub, Bengaluru is now fast catching up on the hardware front too. With Taiwan hardware park, the city take a big leap in that sector.
In the coming four to five weeks, the work on the buildings and roads will start for Bengaluru’s Taiwan Hardware Park, which is expected to complete in two years. Reportedly, the Taiwanese will be importing their equipment and will commence production once the buildings are in place.
This hardware park will not only be a cluster of computer and electronic hardware units, but a first-of-its-kind integrated township for Taiwanese industries and professionals from the tiny island nation, reported New Indian Express.
“We have already provided 300 acres for the park. About 45 companies from Taiwan are keen on setting up units here,” M N Vidyashankar, additional chief secretary and principal secretary, the Department of Industries and Commerce, told NIE.
Units that will emerge will produce electronic and computer sub-systems, components, light emitting diodes (LED) and semiconductor chips, among others.
Additionally, there will be housing quarters, recreation centres, a school and a sports club for families of the Taiwanese in the place.
