Tesla said it delivered 79,600 Model 3 cars and 17,400 Model S and X vehicles during the third quarter.
Electric-car maker Tesla announced that it has achieved record production of 96,155 vehicles and record deliveries of approximately 97,000 vehicles in the third quarter of current financial year.

The company also said that it has achieved record net orders in the third quarter and are entering fourth quarter with an increase in our order backlog.
Tesla highlighted that all the Model 3 orders were received from customers who did not previously hold a reservation. “We are continuing to focus on increasing production to meet that demand,” the company said.
The vehicle deliveries represent only one measure of the company’s financial performance and should not be relied on as an indicator of quarterly financial results, which depend on a variety of factors, including the cost of sales, foreign exchange movements and mix of directly leased vehicles.
Tesla has not started making electric vehicles in India yet because of some challenging government regulations, Musk said in May, 2017. However, Elon Musk is not giving up on the potentially huge but largely undeveloped electric vehicle (EV) market in India, saying that he ‘would love’ Tesla to be there in 2019 or 2020.
Tesla has also shown interest in the Indian government’s plan to build large factories to make lithium-ion batteries at an investment of about ₹50,000 crore.
