The new facility is poised to start with an annual production capacity of 24,000 power modules and plan to scale up to 2.4 lakh modules annually.

Servotech Power Systems Ltd has announced an initiative to enhance the country’s self-reliance in critical EV charger components. It has entered into a technical collaboration with a leading international company to bolster its manufacturing capabilities. The company is setting up a manufacturing facility dedicated to producing Power Modules, Control Circuits, and PLCs, vital components in EV chargers. This strategic development aims to reduce India’s dependency on imported parts and establish the nation as a key contributor to the global EV charger supply chain.

This expansion is in response to the burgeoning demand in the Indian EV market, which is projected to require around 6 lakh units each year. Servotech’s scalable approach underscores its ambition to secure a substantial market share in the fast-growing EV charging segment. This strategic investment in domestic manufacturing underscores the company’s commitment to delivering reliable, cost-effective, and accessible EV charging solutions across the nation.

This initiative is poised to considerably reduce India’s dependence on imported components for EV chargers, thereby enhancing the nation’s self-sufficiency in this critical area. Moreover, the establishment of this plant is expected to create numerous high-skilled job opportunities, contributing positively to the employment landscape. Additionally, the project is set to bolster economic growth in the technology sector, further solidifying India’s position in the global tech industry. Lastly, this development will significantly advance India’s capabilities in EV charging infrastructure, aligning with the country’s goals for sustainable and clean energy solutions.

Arun Handa, Chief Technical Officer of Servotech Power Systems Ltd., remarked, “Our goal is to position Servotech as a preferred supplier of EV Chargers and a preferred OEM supplier of Power Modules for Indian EV Charger manufacturers. By building a strong domestic supply chain, we aim to foster the overall growth of the EV ecosystem, making charging solutions more affordable and accessible to the masses.”
