On Saturday, Tata Projects revealed a partnership with Micron Technology to build a semiconductor assembly and testing facility in Sanand, Gujarat. The company emphasized that this contract underscores Tata Projects’ expertise in executing large-scale, sustainable infrastructure projects within India’s manufacturing sector.
The contract emphasizes Tata Projects’ expertise in undertaking large-scale, sustainable infrastructure projects within the Indian manufacturing scene, as noted in a company press release. The project, located in the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation area of Chaarodi, Sanand, covers a vast 93 acres.
This project is highlighted as a major milestone and represents the most significant investment within the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). The first construction phase will feature 500,000 square feet of cleanroom space, with plans to be operational by the end of 2024.
The venture will introduce a pioneering DRAM (dynamic random access memory) and NAND (non-volatile flash memory) assembly and test facility to India. Tata Projects is set to incorporate contemporary construction methods, including integrated EPC delivery via 4D BIM and hybrid modular accelerated construction.
Lastly, the Sanand facility is being designed to meet the LEED Gold Standards set by the Green Building Council, incorporating cutting-edge water-saving technologies.
