- The company plans to finance the development of its advanced integrated voltage regulator semiconductor technology
- The investment expands Empower’s ability to engage with and support Tier 1 customers worldwide
One of the world’s leading providers of Integrated Voltage Regulators (IVRs), Empower Semiconductor recently announced the closing of a $30 million equity financing round led by an international group of strategic and institutional investors. The company plans to utilize the funds to accelerate the development of its advanced integrated voltage regulator (Empower IVR) semiconductor technology and continue to build out its international sales and engineering team. As per the company, its valuation has doubled over the past 18 months.
Notably, the present investment doubles Empower’s previous valuation, and the company plans to bring state-of-the-art, high-speed power architectures quickly to market. It believes that it will deliver industry-leading power density and transient response as required by next-generation high-performance data centres and AI chips.
Stating that this round reflected the investment community’s excitement over Empower’s revolutionary technology, the company’s CEO, Tim Phillips added, “Investors are seeing the remarkable impact our technology is having on customers globally, in particular in Data Centers and AI. Our technology enables a leap in processor performance that traditional power solutions simply won’t allow.”
US-based Empower Semiconductor was founded in 2014 with the mission to minimize the energy footprint of the digital economy by developing novel fully integrated power management solutions that both increase performance and reduce the power consumption of energy-hungry, data-intensive applications. Its patented IVR technology claims to integrate dozens of components into a single IC aimed to increase efficiency, speed & accuracy with zero discrete components.
