The latest issue in the series explores the importance of monitoring systems for vehicle drivers, which also includes detection of occupant presence and overall condition, which mostly include fatigue, distraction and alertness via AI-based systems. This is mainly aimed to facilitate the development of safety requirements for Level 3 autonomous driving technology and above.

“The 4th instalment of the 2022 @MouserElec #EmpoweringInnovationTogether program explores AI-based driver monitoring systems for occupant presence and condition — such as fatigue or distraction — and includes a new episode of The Tech Between Us podcast,” they tweeted. In the latest iteration of the Tech Between Us podcast, Modar Alaoui, Founder and CEO of Eyeris, leagues with host Raymond Yin, Director of Technical Content at Mouser Electronics, on a discussion regarding driver monitoring approaches in automobiles, lawmaking around the technology and the infrastructure behind the approaches.

The section on driver monitoring systems topic mainly explores the modes by which detection of both the driver and occupants can help avoid multiple adverse circumstances using newer and better user interfaces. Interior environment monitoring systems via AI-based tech can help glimpse signs of inattentive, fatigued and unalert drivers along with occupant presence and conditions to caution the motorist.
