REIL Invites Tenders For Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Across India

Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited is aiming to setup 1000 electric vehicle charging stations in 75 plus cities across the country

The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has invited bids for the empanelment of agencies for setting up electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. REIL is an India government-owned manufacturer of electronic products. The last date for submitting bid proposals have been set at 12 October 2020.

“The Company invites sealed Expression of Interest, from the interested parties for Empanelment of agency for Location Identification, Installation, Operation and maintenance of EV Charging Stations to be setup by REIL,” read the tender.

It contiued, “Further, as per the Expression of Interest by DHI for setting up EV Charging Infrastructure in Million plus cities/Smart cities/Capital cities of states & UTs, REIL is going to set up more than 1000 nos. of EV charging stations in 60 plus cities across the country.”

Investment of Rs 100 Crore

The investor, as REIL’s tender read, should be ready to invest Rs 100 Crore in the project (Approx $13.70 million). Bidders must also have experience in automobile sector and operation of EV charging infrastructure.

Another requirement for bidders is to have experience in mobile application development. They should also have know how of information technology and online platforms. Apart from a pan-India network for supporting the infrastructure in the EV charging domain, the bidders must have trained IT workforce as well.

“The Bidder shall not be under a Declaration of Ineligibility for corrupt or fraudulent practices or blacklisted with any of the Government agencies as on the due date for submission of bid,” read the tender.

It continued, “The investment shall be recovered by agency from the revenue sharing business model. The applicable business model will be adopted on mutually agreed terms & conditions.”

REIL has been given the responsibility of creating public infrastructure for charging of EVs in line with the Government of India mission on e-mobility. REIL has successfully completed installation of three of solar hybrid EV charging stations in the city of Jaipur. Further, the company was given the responsibility of setting up 200 EV charging stations in the cities of Jaipur, Delhi & Chandigarh under FAME-I scheme which the company has successfully completed in 2018-19.
