India is one of the largest consumers of LED Lights in the world. How is this this industry evolving? Abhijit Rai Vaish, Executive Director, Instapower shares with EFY?
Q: Can you share with us how you became involved in the LED solutions industry, particularly with Instapower?
A: Instapower started LED Lighting business in 2003 with the guidance and leadership of our Managing Director H. R. Vaish who is an alumni of IIT Delhi. He was able to see the potential and future of LED lighting and its uses with the advancement in technologies and he was sure it will become the only solution for lighting in the years to come and all lighting would get replaced for Metal Halide, CFC, bulbs, etc.
Q: What are the key challenges you’ve encountered while in India’s landscape around LED solutions, and how have you overcome them?
A: Since there was no competition or knowledge about LED lighting and Instapower being the first company in India it was really challenging and difficult as there were no industry benchmark and there were no specifications, testing standards, technical knowledge. The company invested heavily into R&D in new product development and electronics considering the power situation in India.
Q: Could you elaborate on some of the most impactful LED solutions or projects Instapower Ltd has undertaken?
A: We have executed many projects but some of the prestigious projects are Signature Bridge, Gujarat Bhawan, Ram Path Ayodhya, Ayodhya Airport, Surat Airport, Trichy Airport, M.P.Bhawan, C.G. City, Rumi Gate, etc. There are lot of Hydro projects over 200 substations, power plants, railway stations and many more.
Q: How does Instapower Ltd stay ahead of the curve in terms of innovation and technological advancements in the LED industry?
A: We keep innovating products keeping in mind the customer requirements and the latest trends. There is constant investment on product development. We also keep speaking to all the channel partners. They help us understand the market dunamics better.
Q: How do you see the future of LED solutions shaping up in India, and what role does Instapower aim to play in this evolving landscape?
A: Instapower would like to work on prestigious projects and expand its presence across the country and in foreign markets with the experience we have taken over the last two decades in LED lighting.
Q: What is happening on the components supply chain in India?
A: The supply chain of components is improved a lot in India. There is focus on localisation, and that has already made India self sufficient in terms of LED light manufacturing. We continue to look and partner with component makers and suppliers for further bettering our products.
