Discover how this dynamic partnership extends the life of electric motorcycles, lowers costs, and bridges the gap between mobility and clean energy.

In a move toward sustainable electric mobility, Orxa Energies, a dynamic electric vehicle (EV) and energy systems startup has announced a strategic partnership with Nunam Technologies, a Bangalore-based startup specialising in EV battery reuse. This collaboration heralds a significant stride in creating a closed-loop circular battery ecosystem, showcasing both companies’ dedication to waste reduction and environmental impact maximisation.

The partnership centres on establishing a circular value chain for Orxa’s batteries, explicitly focusing on extending the life of the flagship electric motorcycle, Mantis. Nunam Technologies will play a pivotal role by repurposing Mantis batteries into renewable energy storage systems, offering an eco-friendly alternative with a minimal carbon footprint. This initiative promotes sustainability and lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for Mantis users, with plans for a battery buyback program catering to B2B customers and Mantis riders, fostering a commitment to sustainable practices.

Ranjita Ravi, co-founder of Orxa Energies, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasising its alignment with their commitment to sustainability. She highlighted how this collaboration complements Orxa’s work in battery technology, drone applications for B2B sectors, and aerospace and defence, envisioning a future where their products contribute to a cleaner environment. Nunam Technologies shares this dedication to sustainability, aiming to bridge the gap between mobility and clean energy through EV battery reuse. Their goal is to provide a second life for Mantis batteries, thereby reducing the CO2 footprint by up to 40%. This endeavour is poised to address India’s clean energy requirements, particularly in off-grid energy storage, micro-grids, and solar-powered applications for agriculture and cottage industries.

In the coming months, the Nunam team will collaborate closely with Orxa Energies’ engineers to identify ways to maximise battery reuse and minimise associated costs. They aim to ensure the highest buyback value for Mantis batteries and develop customer-centric buyback programs, potentially leading to more affordable financing options for Mantis users. Together, Orxa Energies and Nunam Technologies are setting a new standard for sustainable practices in the electric mobility industry, reaffirming their commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation. This partnership contributes to a greener future and promises electric vehicle enthusiasts a more affordable and eco-conscious path.
