According to a report, Manassas-based microwave product manufacturer Mu-Del Electronics LLC has announced its acquisition of New York-cased RF product manufacturing company Luff Research. This acquisition has been done primarily for enhancing Luff’s manufacturing quality and volume.
The transaction amount hasn’t been disclosed so far. Sami Antrazi, CEO, Mu-Del Electonics shared that the acquisition would offer superior products to the marketplace, while gaining additional market share. Luff Research produces high-performance RF oscillators and synthesiser, while Mu-Del Electronics designs and manufactures RF and microwave subsystems and components for national defence purposes.
Meanwhile, Luff Research President Greta Gorder added “We are excited to join Mu-Del Electronics, as their approach to product development and customer support, along with their critical mass and strong business acumen, enables the business growth of our current, and future, customers — which our customers are requesting.”
Expanding market reach
Mu-Del Electronics products are used for intelligence collection, telemetry, radar signal processing and communication in airborne, ground-based and naval settings. The company is also a subsidiary of Ironwave Technologies.
“The combined engineering and product offerings of our American based companies will allow us to expand our product offering to our current and future clients,” Jim Guinaw, Mu-Del Electronics executive vice president of sales, said in a statement.
