Aiming to support local talent and innovation in the Boston tech corridor, Power electronics manufacturer Advanced Energy has opened a new design and service centre in Massachusetts.
Advanced Energy, an American provider of power conversion, measurement, and control solutions, has announced the launch of a new design and service centre in Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA. This new facility will focus on developing power technologies for semiconductor, industrial, and medical applications.
As the company states, the centre will combine laboratory and office space, accommodating up to 50 employees. Besides, it will also have recreational amenities like gym and cafeteria.
Furthermore, aligning with Advanced Energy’s growth strategy will facilitate the introduction of technology platforms, reduce the time spent on marketing new products, and ensure efficient transitions to high-volume manufacturing.
Said Steve Kelley, Advanced Energy’s president and CEO, “Our new Wilmington facility, strategically located in Boston’s tech corridor, allows us to tap into local talent and strengthen our leadership in these key areas.”
The company further stated that the location will allow the company to access talent, owing to its proximity to reputed institutions like MIT and the Northeastern, enhancing its precision power technologies for semiconductor plasma applications, high-voltage industrial instruments, and advanced medical equipment.
Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, Advanced Energy has spent four decades specialising in power electronics for applications across various industries, including semiconductors, industrial manufacturing, telecommunications, and healthcare.
