Aimtron Electronics Partners with Nanta Tech to Manufacture Allbotix Robotics

The agreement marks a strategic shift for Aimtron from conventional EMS offerings toward specialised manufacturing for Industry 4.0 applications

Aimtron Electronics (India) Limited has entered into a strategic manufacturing agreement with Nanta Tech to accelerate the production of Allbotix Robotics, strengthening its presence in India’s fast-growing robotics manufacturing ecosystem.

Under the partnership, Aimtron will leverage its electronics manufacturing services (EMS) capabilities, including advanced PCB and PCBA manufacturing, to support the large-scale production of Allbotix robotic solutions. The collaboration enables Nanta Tech to expand manufacturing without significant capital expenditure while allowing Aimtron to diversify into higher-value robotics manufacturing.

Aimtron has reported strong financial growth in recent years. The company recorded a 54.4 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue, while its profit after tax (PAT) more than doubled to ₹93.3 million in FY24, reflecting growing demand for its manufacturing services.

The company also exports products to international markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong, providing a foundation for potential global expansion of robotics manufacturing.

The partnership comes shortly after Aimtron’s successful IPO in 2024, which saw strong investor participation. The company has been investing the proceeds in expanding its PCB assembly capabilities and strengthening its research and development infrastructure in Gujarat.

The collaboration is expected to position Aimtron as a key manufacturing partner in India’s emerging robotics supply chain. Robotics manufacturing generally offers higher margins than traditional consumer electronics assembly, potentially improving the company’s profitability while expanding its presence in sectors such as industrial automation, logistics, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, and medical electronics.

The announcement also aligns with the broader growth of India’s EMS industry, which continues to benefit from government initiatives such as the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme and the Make in India programme aimed at boosting domestic electronics manufacturing.

Although there are numerous challenges in the industry, such as supply chain volatility for specialised semiconductor components, scaling production for complex robotic systems, and increasing competition from larger EMS players, this collaboration needs to be more disciplined about execution.

Through this partnership, Aimtron is moving towards becoming a manufacturer of complex electronic systems rather than only electronic components, while supporting the expansion of India’s robotics manufacturing capabilities.
