Alps Electric prepares new facility for automotive component production in India

Alps Electric’s Indian affiliate, Alps Electric (India) Pvt. Ltd. (Gurgaon, Haryana, India; Representative: Masaki Ino), will relocate in January 2014 as the company prepares to carry out local production of components for automotive applications.

Monday, December 16, 2013: Alps Electric established sales company Alps Electric India in 2011 to enable a quick response to demand from automotive and electronics manufacturers from around the world that had set up operations in India.
In response to requests for local production from these manufacturers and in order to supply products to the worlds’ automakers, including domestic manufacturers, Alps Electric India will soon relocate to a new facility where it can pursue production activities.

The new facility will occupy leased space on the first and basement floors of an existing building in the city of Gurgaon. Construction work will finish by the end of December 2013 ready for the relocation of current sales functions in early January 2014. Activities to get underway in May 2014 will initially consist of inspection for some products and other basic processes.
Starting with automotive switches, the product lineup will be gradually expanded as progress is made toward the start of production work and full production operations.

Once the new facility is complete, Alps Electric India will possess sales, production, administrative and warehousing functions. Alps Electric will then look to expand business within India’s automobile and motorcycle markets, which are anticipating annual growth of 15 to 18 percent, by pushing ahead with a “Customer In” approach ensuring a prompt response to diverse customer needs.
