AMD has appointed Vinay Awasthi as Senior Vice President, Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), strengthening the company’s leadership team as demand for AI and high-performance computing solutions continues to rise across the region.
Based in Singapore, Awasthi will lead AMD’s sales strategy and business execution across APJ, one of the company’s fastest-growing markets. His role will focus on expanding customer relationships, strengthening partnerships with OEMs and channel partners, and aligning regional go-to-market strategies across enterprise, cloud, AI, commercial, and consumer segments.
Awasthi joins AMD with more than 20 years of experience in global technology sales and leadership. Before joining the semiconductor company, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Compute Sales at Qualcomm. Prior to that, he spent over two decades at HP, where he held several senior regional and global leadership positions.

He added that AMD’s expanding portfolio of computing and AI products presents major opportunities across the APJ region, and he looks forward to working closely with customers, partners, and teams to drive innovation and business growth.
Darren Grasby, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at AMD, said the company is confident that Awasthi’s leadership experience, customer relationships, and industry expertise will help strengthen AMD’s position across the region.
The appointment highlights AMD’s continued investment in the Asia Pacific and Japan market as enterprises and cloud providers accelerate adoption of AI and advanced computing technologies. The company said the strengthened leadership structure will support its efforts to expand customer engagement and ecosystem partnerships across APJ.
