Appointment of new bureaucrats announced

Indian-National-EmblemThursday, September 18, 2014: Tapan Ray, an IAS officer, presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

As per an official press release, Ray will succeed Mr Rajiv Gauba, IAS (JH:82). The release stated that the appointment committee has also approved the appointment of Aruna Sundararajan, IAS (KL:82), as administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in the position of N. Ravi Shankar, IAS (UK:80).

Amarjeet Sinha, IAS (BH:83) who is presently in cadre has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education in the vacancy of Amita Sharma, IAS (MP:81).

Neeraj Kumar Gupta, IAS (UP:82) who is also presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Secretary, Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprises, Department of Public Enterprises in the position of Swarnamala Rawla, IAS (MP:80) at the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.

Yudhvir Singh Malik, IAS (HY:83), presently in the cadre, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the position of Mr D.K. Samantaray, IAS (MP:82) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.

Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, IAS (PB:84), presently Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as Adviser, Inter State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs at post vacated by P.G. Dhar Chakraborty, IAS (JK:80) (Retired) in the rank and pay of Joint Secretary.

Anand Kumar, IAS (KL:84), presently Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism has been appointed as Managing Director, National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways by temporarily working at the newly created post at this level in the rank and pay of Joint Secretary.

Alok Shrivastava, IAS (MP:84), Joint Secretary under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Shipping by temporary downgrading the newly created post of Additional Secretary in the Ministry.
