To distribute its innovative ADCs and laser drivers in the Americas, Silanna Semiconductor teams up with Avnet, offering engineers cost-effective and efficient solutions.
US-based Silanna Semiconductor has signed a franchise agreement with Avnet to market and distribute its products across the Americas. This agreement will see Avnet provide technical design support and promote Silanna’s Plural™ analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) and FirePower™ laser drivers for LiDAR and rangefinder applications.
Silanna’s Plural ADCs are available in 10- to 16-bit resolution, with sample rates ranging from 5 to 250 Msps. The products utilise Silanna’s proprietary ResolutionEngine™ architecture, enabling a single die to be configured to support over 40 different products.
Furthermore, the ADCs offer alternatives to legacy models, with more than half of the 150+ products being pin-for-pin replacements. This allows for improved cost efficiency and flexibility in the supply chain.
The FirePower laser driver integrated circuits (ICs) are designed to enhance power efficiency, reduce BOM costs, and minimise footprint size. The technology is expected to improve laser efficiency by 73% while lowering thermal management requirements.
These features make the drivers suitable for applications such as battery-powered consumer and sports devices.
Patrick Moore, Vice President of Global Sales & Applications at Silanna, stated, “Our ADC platform offers engineers a new alternative in a market that two major players have long dominated. This partnership with Avnet will help us reach a broader audience and address market demands for innovation and cost reductions.”
Alex Iuorio, Senior Vice President of Supplier Development at Avnet, added, “Silanna’s products offer high performance and cost-saving benefits. We look forward to working with them to offer new analogue solutions to customers in the Americas.”
Silanna’s Plural ADCs and FirePower laser drivers are available through both Avnet and Silanna’s sales teams.
