Partnering with an Indian tech provider to deliver high-reliability systems for rail and metro networks, Aimtron Electronics ventures into the railway signalling sector.
Aimtron Electronics Ltd, a player in the electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) sector, has entered the railway signalling and train safety systems market. The company has formed a partnership with a well-established Indian technology provider that specialises in mission-critical railway signalling solutions.
The company highlighted that this move expands Aimtron’s footprint in the high-reliability electronics segment, focusing on enhancing the safety and efficiency of Indian rail and metro networks. However, it did not disclose its partner’s name.
Nevertheless, through this partnership, Aimtron will be responsible for the manufacturing, system integration, testing, and quality assurance of railway signalling electronics. These systems are designed to meet the stringent safety-critical rail infrastructure requirements, including reliability, redundancy, and safety integrity level (SIL) standards.
Advanced signalling systems in India, including the phased implementation of Automatic Train Protection technologies like Kavach, reflect the importance of this technology in improving operational safety within the railway network.
Sneh Shah, Whole Time Director at Aimtron Electronics, commented, “Entry into this market requires strong discipline around quality systems, documentation, and audits. As we scale, we believe consistent execution will be more critical than speed.”
Aimtron has also been involved in similar projects for regulated infrastructure monitoring systems, including environmental and weather intelligence platforms across various infrastructure sectors.
Meanwhile, the broader Indian railway equipment market is set to grow significantly, reaching nearly US$15.9 billion by 2030, according to TechSci Research, driven by increasing investments in signalling, communications, and safety technologies.
