The MoU is also likely to open up export opportunities in line with the government’s defence export promotion policies.
Bharat Electronics Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RRP Electronics Limited and RRP Defence Limited, both part of the RRP Group, to jointly explore opportunities across semiconductors, electro-optics, unmanned systems, and advanced defence technologies.
The collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening India’s defence technology ecosystem, aligning with national priorities around indigenisation and capability enhancement.
The partnership combines BEL’s decades-long expertise in defence electronics and mission-critical systems with RRP Electronics’ semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and RRP Defence’s strengths in electro-optical (EO) systems and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms. Together, the companies aim to develop high-precision EO systems such as surveillance solutions and weapon sights, semiconductor devices, and next-generation unmanned systems.
Under the agreement, the partners will jointly identify, design, and develop advanced technologies tailored for defence and strategic applications. The alliance is expected to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions while driving innovation and enhancing India’s strategic capabilities.
The MoU is also likely to open up export opportunities in line with the defence export promotion policies of the government.
The agreement was exchanged between Niti Pandit, General Manager (Strategic Planning) at BEL, and Rajendra Chodankar, Founder and Chairman of RRP Group, in the presence of senior officials including Manoj Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of BEL.
Commenting on the partnership, Manoj Jain said the collaboration represents a major step toward strengthening India’s defence ecosystem. He noted that the combined expertise of BEL and RRP Group would help deliver cutting-edge, indigenous solutions for both domestic and global markets.
Rajendra Chodankar added that the partnership reflects a forward-looking approach to advancing India’s defence technological base, emphasizing the goal of building dependable, purpose-driven solutions aligned with the country’s long-term strategic interests.
