Enhancing local innovation, Bourns launches a new India design centre offering engineers advanced components and faster application development.
Bourns has announced the opening of its first design centre in India in Bangalore. The new hub provides local access to essential tools, expert support and reference designs featuring Bourns high performance components.
Bourns selected the Bangalore region for the centre because of the depth of engineering talent available in the area. The new 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility opened on November 13, in a ceremony that invited key business partners and customers.
The facility gives developers in India direct access to advanced tools and technical expertise. It offers an extensive library of reference designs built with leading Bourns components, helping customers explore new ideas and strengthen the differentiation of their applications.
The Bourns India design centre supports faster development cycles through established processes that enable quick prototyping and efficient design validation. It promotes strong teamwork among engineering, product management and marketing groups, and gives customers a way to monitor the real impact of their design choices. The centre will also offer practical co design support and technical training.
Gordon Bourns, Chairman and CEO at Bourns, Inc. said, “Bourns continues to be at the forefront of engineering innovative power, protection and sensing solutions that help advance the development of efficient and sustainable applications. The opening of this centre aligns with Bourns’ global focus on high-growth market segments, and reaffirms our commitment to responsible environmental management by influencing low carbon designs.”
Al Yost, President and COO at Bourns said, “By opening this new collaborative design centre, we are adding essential capabilities to address complex design challenges enabling our customers to streamline and simplify application development. Developers will reap the advantages of Bourns’ proven magnetic component design expertise that will empower them to meet next-generation IC performance, shorten design cycles and add industry-leading features to their end products.
