Dish TV Forays Into Smart TV Market With VZY Range

Combining satellite TV with streaming apps, Dish TV is entering the smart TV market with its new VZY range.

Dish TV India has entered the smart television segment with the launch of its VZY range, aiming to merge satellite broadcasting and digital streaming in a single device. The move marks a major diversification for the company as it seeks to stay relevant in India’s rapidly shifting entertainment landscape.

The new line of televisions integrates Dish TV’s satellite services with popular over-the-top (OTT) apps, allowing users to access live TV and streaming content on the same screen. Some models also feature an inbuilt set-top box, eliminating the need for an external device — a feature the company claims gives it an edge in India’s competitive smart TV market.

The VZY range spans from 32-inch HD models to 55-inch 4K UHD QLED televisions, equipped with Google TV (Android 14), Dolby Vision and Atmos, and built-in Chromecast and AirPlay support. The products are priced to cater to both urban metros and smaller Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, with financing options to expand accessibility.

Industry experts view this launch as part of Dish TV’s “beyond broadcasting” strategy, designed to help it retain its traditional DTH user base while capturing a share of India’s fast-growing smart TV adoption. With consumers increasingly moving to digital-first viewing, the company’s integrated approach could allow it to leverage its existing presence in millions of households.

The VZY televisions will be available across online and offline retail channels starting this month, placing Dish TV in direct competition with global and domestic electronics brands already active in the market.
