Tuesday, February 04, 2014: Kwality Photonics, India’s numero uno LED manufacturer, launched its latest innovation – uniLEDTM – a range of premier LED Automotive Fitments through the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Hon’ble Minister of MNRE. Dr Abdullah emphasised the need for rapid adaption of LEDs in lighting applications to reduce load on the conventional power systems.

The launch coincided with the inaugural session of LED Expo 2013 being organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Hon’ble Minister of MNRE lauded Kwality’s initiative into Automotive Segment which brought into focus the 30 years of KWALITY’s R&D expertise in shaping the first universal replaceable LED bulb at the cost of a good quality filament bulb.

Ashok Gera, President of the Delhi Scooter Traders Association, who graced the launch said “As technology advances, it becomes imperative to leverage synergies and expertise from other industry segments to help produce offerings of value for the end customer and Kwality’s uniLED stands to transform the Indian Automotive Lighting space in this measure”.

K Vijay Kumar Gupta, MD and CEO, Kwality Photonics highlighted uniLED’s product proposition “uniLED is a breakthrough design, ranking first among the globally available commercial LED auto bulbs and is India’s first and only LED bulb designed to light up every OEM automotive light across all categories of vehicles 2, 3 and 4 wheeler and across all models, past or present, thus marking a new era in the Indian automotive lighting space”.

The occasion was graced by fraternities from both the Electronics and Automobile industry, including DSTA and Radiant Enterprises, Kwality’s strategic marketing partner for uniLED.

The uniLED is now being readied for mass production. Meanwhile Kwality Photonics P Ltd & Radiant are setting up sales channel partners in all states of India. Says Mr Gupta, “With 2million vehicles produced monthly in India, the market size for uniLED tail & blinker bulbs is estimated to be 160 million per month on single replacement per year basis. With our pricing of blow ₹20 per bulb, it’s less than that of two good quality bulbs. Moreover uniLED comes with life time LED warrantee. So we expect to carve out 10% market share within 12 months & keep up the momentum there after. This offers a sure-shot growth & highly profitable opportunity to all our sales channel partners “
