Use TDK’s USSM Plus-FS waterproof ultrasonic range sensors to create real-world applications and showcase innovation.
The element14 Community, in collaboration with TDK, invites engineers, makers, and tech enthusiasts to participate in an exciting design challenge. This competition offers an opportunity to develop innovative projects using TDK’s USSM Plus-FS waterproof ultrasonic range sensors and showcase their real-world applications.
As part of the challenge, selected participants will receive a TDK evaluation kit, which includes two TDK USSM Plus-FS ultrasonic range sensors, a TDK evaluation board, and sensor connector cables. With these components, challengers will create functional projects that explore various applications such as object detection, industrial control sensing, human-robot interaction, smart delivery robots, autonomous lawnmowers, and liquid level sensing. This hands-on challenge allows participants to demonstrate the versatility and accuracy of ultrasonic distance sensing technology.
Andreea Teodorescu, Global Director of Product Marketing & element14 Community, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “This design challenge provides our community with the opportunity to explore the power of ultrasonic sensing technology with hands-on experience in real-world applications.”
The application deadline is 28 March, and selected participants will have until 16 June to complete their projects. Throughout the challenge, participants must document their progress in at least five blog posts, including the final project. Posts that feature photos, videos, and code samples will receive higher consideration from the judges.
Exciting prizes await the winners. The grand prize includes an Apple iPad Pro 11-inch (4th gen) 128GB and an iRobot Roomba self-emptying robot vacuum. The runner-up will receive an iPad Mini 10.9-inch 64GB along with an iRobot Roomba self-emptying robot vacuum. Additionally, all participants who complete five blogs and a project will receive a MultiComp Pro Multimeter Set as a reward for their efforts.Fore more information, click here.
