Garmin Launches Extended Warranty Scheme in India for Sports and Fitness Products

Garmin introduced extended warranty on selected fitness and sports products with free access to running coaches, local services and support

Garmin India, a unit of US-based Garmin Ltd – a world leader in providing portable navigation devices for automobiles, trucks and motorcycles, announced the launch of a new customer-centric services and extended warranty scheme for some its products in the fitness and sports category. Under the scheme, the customers of Garmin’s fitness and sports products such as smart watches, activity trackers, etc, can avail free access to local services, running coaches and support for two years.

The new extended warranty scheme is available for new customers and is applicable on its multisport GPS smart watches for fitness, sports, adventure and style – Fenix 5, Fenix 5s, Fenix 5x, Fenix 5 Plus, Fenix 5x Plus, Vivoactive 3 Music, Forerunner 935, and Vivosport. These are the models which are covered under the Garmin extended warranty plan. The company will add new models to the scheme, after they are launched in India.

Commenting on the development, Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager, Garmin India, said, “Garmin is proud to launch the extended warranty privilege; as part of the global plan we are extremely happy that the first launch has taken place in India. This is a landmark step we have taken to protect our loyal customers.”

“It is Garmin’s assurance of its par excellence after sales services. Our products are an integral part of our customers lifestyles and it is our constant endeavor to shield them from the minutest inconvenience with our smooth and swift service standards,” he added.

Scheme terms and conditions

The extended warranty scheme will be available without any extra charges to promote product sales and is applicable from October 10, 2018 and will continue till the stocks last. As per the scheme, an extended warranty card will be provided to the customer and the special extended Garmin warranty logo will be put in the product box.

As part of the extended warranty plan, the company will provide one-year standard warranty on its fitness and wellness products and in the following year, the warranty will be given by the authorised distributors of Garmin. In order to avail the extended warranty facility, the customers must register their products and their details on the distributor’s websites within 30 days of the date of purchase of the product.
