GlobalLogic and Nokia Partner to Drive 5G Innovation with Advanced Network APIs

This collaboration emphasizes the critical role of partnerships in driving 5G and 4G adoption and the evolution of enterprise ecosystems.

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company and Nokia partners to mark a development in accelerating the adoption of advanced 5G and 4G enterprise solutions. By leveraging Nokia’s Network as Code platform and its developer portal, GlobalLogic aims to foster innovation and address the growing needs of enterprise verticals, specifically focusing initially on the automotive, industrial, and financial sectors.

GlobalLogic’s software development team can harness the power of Nokia’s Network as Code platform to access advanced network capabilities effortlessly. This enables the development of innovative, network-aware applications that operate seamlessly across various network architectures. The platform equips developers with Software Development Kits (SDKs) and detailed Network API documentation, offering the essential tools to drive innovation with speed and efficiency.

Sameer Tikoo, Group Vice President & General Manager of the Communications & Network Providers Business Unit at GlobalLogic, highlighted, “The Network as Code platform creates a cohesive ecosystem by uniting telco networks, systems integrators, and developers on a global scale.”

Adding to this, Ashay Punekar, Vice President of the Communications & Network Providers Business Unit at GlobalLogic, stated, “This collaboration enables us to drive 5G innovation at an accelerated pace while transforming how enterprises engage with and leverage network technologies. It also supports communication service providers in maximizing the value of their 5G investments.”

GlobalLogic will initially concentrate on use cases aimed at improving operational efficiency, fraud prevention, customer experience, and unlocking new revenue opportunities. By harnessing 5G-enabled Network APIs, industrial and automotive sectors can revolutionize worker safety, boost operational efficiency, and achieve sustainability goals. Connected devices like smart helmets and wearables can leverage network functions to monitor real-time worker locations and integrate IoT data, such as health metrics and environmental factors like gas levels or temperature, triggering instant alerts to mitigate safety risks.

AI-powered predictive maintenance and digital twin technologies enhance safety and efficiency by identifying issues early, while XR/VR solutions facilitate remote plant maintenance and immersive training, reducing travel needs and emissions. In the financial sector, API-driven network insights, device authentication, and AI enable real-time fraud detection, secure financial transactions, and personalized value-added services, fostering enhanced customer trust and experience.

Highlighting the benefits of the partnerships, Shkumbin Hamiti, Head of Network Monetization Platform, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia said, “With our Network as Code platform, GlobalLogic will benefit from having choice, flexibility, and extreme automation to fit its business model and create new value in connecting to ecosystems of applications and services. Leveraging its digital engineering expertise, GlobalLogic is well-positioned to harness this innovation for seamless integration and enhanced connectivity. As a B2B technology innovation leader, Nokia is driving the next evolution of networking to enable people, machines, and devices to interact in real-time like never before.”
