Driving innovation in telecom, 5G, and AI, GlobalLogic expands its Chennai facility, planning 20% workforce growth by 2025.
GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company and digital engineering leader, inaugurated a new office in Chennai, strengthening its presence in India and deepening partnerships with Global Capability Centers (GCCs). The facility, located at RMZ Milenia Business Park in Perungudi, will accommodate 500 professionals and complements a 300-seat center in Guindy, established through GlobalLogic’s integration with Mobiveil, acquired in December 2023.
With over 800 employees currently in Chennai, GlobalLogic plans to expand its local workforce by 20% by the end of 2025, bringing it to over 1,000. This growth aligns with the company’s broader ambition of reaching a 20,000-strong workforce in India and 35,000 globally.
The inauguration was attended by Dr Palanivel Thiagarajan, Hon’ble Minister of IT and Digital Services, Tamil Nadu, and Mr Bhaskar Kumar Verma, NASSCOM’s Regional Director for South India, highlighting Chennai’s rising prominence as a digital innovation hub.
The new center will focus on AI-first teams driving innovation across cloud-native platforms, embedded systems, and telecom networks. According to Mr. Piyush Jha, Group VP and MD, APAC, GlobalLogic, the facility supports a “zero distance to clients” strategy, enabling real-time co-creation and accelerated delivery for Fortune 500 clients.
Mr Vikram Puranik, SVP, Communications, Consumer & Media, said the Chennai hub will address complex telecom challenges, from 5G monetisation to AI-driven customer experience, leveraging GlobalLogic’s VelocityAI platform to deliver next-generation solutions globally.
