The deal broadens Harwin’s footprint in mission-critical aerospace, defence, and industrial markets by integrating specialised EMC backshell technologies.
Harwin has acquired UK-based KEC Limited, a specialist designer and manufacturer of rugged interconnect solutions for the aerospace, defence, and high-end industrial sectors.
Established in 1979, KEC has developed a strong reputation for high-performance electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) backshells, glands, and panel fittings designed for complex, mission-critical environments. Through the acquisition, Harwin integrates KEC’s complete product range alongside its existing portfolio of high-reliability signal, power, and coaxial connector systems.
The transaction will leverage Harwin’s global sales, distribution, and support network to expand international market access for KEC’s standard circular and D-type EMC backshells, glands and panel fittings, as well as its bespoke engineering solutions.
