Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced the launch of HP Sprocket Plus printer in India. The company claims that the new portable printer from HP has the ability to produce 30 percent larger photos when compared to its predecessor HP Sprocket.
Sumeer Chandra, MD, HP India, in a press statement said, “Continuing with our strong focus and commitment for catering to the millennials, we are introducing HP Sprocket Plus that offers a unique experience of remembering, reliving and saving their memories.”
What’s new
Powered by HP’s ZINK (Zero Ink) technology that enables photograph prints sized at 2.3 x 3.4 inches, the HP Sprocket Plus printer can be controlled using the HP Sprocket app.
It supports Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity on Android and iOS devices to enable wireless printing. Consumers can use their smartphones and tablets connected to the printer in order to print photos directly from a social network.
HP Sprocket Plus features
The HP Sprocket Plus printer boosts 512MB RAM and uses a USB port for power charging. It weighs 204 grams and measures 5.59 x 3.50 x 0.71 inches.
Designed to take prints sized 2.3 x 3.4 inches, the HP Sprocket plus pocket printer uses HP’s proprietary ZINK technology. This technology makes use of a thermal printing head to heat up ZINK photo paper that’s embedded with dye crystal to produce images.
Compatible with devices running on Android 4.4, iOS 8.0 and above, the HP Sprocket app offers photo customisation with different filters, emojis, stickers and text borders.
HP said that their latest Sprocket Plus printer is capable of delivering water and tear resistant photo prints. The main highlight of the printer as claimed by the company is the fact that it does not use using any ink or toner cartridges.
HP Sprocket Plus printer India price and availability
HP has launched the new Sprocket Plus printer at a price of Rs 8,999 in India. Consumers can buy the new HP printer on Amazon India website. HP is currently offering a pack of 10 papers with the bundle. Users can also buy a pack of 20 ZINK papers at Rs 799.
Consumers can choose between the red and black colour variants of the HP Sprocket Plus printer.
