Finnish telecom major, Nokia has won a contract from GTPL to deploy faster and enhanced network delivery to boost digital communication in India
Nokia has bagged a broadband deal from GTPL Hathway Limited, one of India’s leading cable TV and broadband service providers to deploy a faster and improved internet experience to its subscribers. The Nokia Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) solutions’ focus will be to provide ultra-broadband services in residential areas without network errors.
Partnership
GTPL believes its partnership with Nokia will yield a better connectivity to the subscribers. The association is also aimed at the promotion of India’s digital vision of a faster adoption of digital communication mode. Anirudh Jadeja, Managing Director, GTPL HathwayLtd, said that the country’s increasing broadband consumption would soon result in an increase in the demand for better speed. The partnership would be catering to this very demand for data users.
Expressing his delight over the deal, Vinish Bawa, head of emerging business, Nokia, said that it would be a great support for a smoother deployment of network and the GTPL-Nokia partnership would create a tough competition in the market.
Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON) and Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) of Nokia will be used to facilitate faster speeds in high-speed internet, Linear TV and Video-on-Demand (VoD) services. The Finnish telecom company’s GPON equipment will be issued in Gujarat by the end of 2018. GTPL will also be using the Nokia 7750 Service Router, Carrier Grade NAT (CGNAT) and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) functions to deliver enhanced network service capabilities.
