The charging stations are equipped with three charging points of different capacities (DC 150kW, DC 60kW, and DC 30kW) to accommodate different EV models.

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has made significant strides in expanding its Ultra-Fast charging station network across India, with the establishment of 11 new stations. These strategically located stations are situated in major cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Bangalore, as well as along crucial highways, including Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Surat, and Mumbai-Nashik. Each station is equipped with three charging points of varying capacities (DC 150kW, DC 60kW, and DC 30kW) to accommodate a range of EV models. For added convenience, most stations operate 24/7 and feature amenities like restaurants and shopping complexes to enhance the experience for EV users.

Jae Wan Ryu, Executive Director of Corporate Planning at HMIL, highlighted the company’s dedication to improving the EV ownership experience and supporting the Indian government’s efforts towards electrification. Hyundai is focused on offering rapid charging solutions, particularly for its IONIQ 5 customers, who can achieve a charge from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes.

The Ultra-Fast charging stations provide competitive pricing for charging sessions, starting at Rs 18 per unit for the 30kW charger, Rs 21 per unit for the 60kW charger, and Rs 24 per unit for the 150kW charger. Hyundai’s app, myHyundai, facilitates easy location and booking of charging slots, along with features for navigation, digital payments, and monitoring of charging status.

Looking forward, Hyundai has plans to expand its Ultra-Fast charging network further by adding 10 or more new locations in 2024, with a focus on enhancing the overall EV experience for both Hyundai and non-Hyundai EV users. Moreover, the company has committed to installing 100 charging stations by 2027 as part of its agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu, underscoring its commitment to the growth of EV infrastructure in India.
