The autonomous driving race just intensified as Hyundai, Kia and NVIDIA join forces to change the pace.
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation have strengthened their partnership with NVIDIA to advance next-generation autonomous driving technology using the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion™ platform.
This collaboration combines Hyundai Motor Group’s expertise in software-defined vehicles, its vast global fleet, and autonomous driving capabilities with NVIDIA’s AI computing power, infrastructure, and software solutions.
NVIDIA is also looking to expand its work with Motional, Hyundai Motor Group’s autonomous driving joint venture, to develop Level 4 robotaxi technology further and accelerate future mobility services.
As part of the agreement, Hyundai Motor Group plans to integrate NVIDIA’s autonomous driving technologies into select vehicles, supporting Level 2 and higher systems to enhance safety and intelligent driving features.
The partnership will enable the development of a scalable autonomous driving system built on NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion, supporting a wide range of capabilities—from advanced driver assistance to higher levels of automation.
By combining Hyundai’s large-scale real-world driving data with NVIDIA’s AI platforms, the companies aim to create a continuous development cycle that includes data collection, AI training, simulation, validation, and deployment.
This data-driven approach will help improve autonomous systems over time, allowing vehicles to learn and adapt based on real-world driving conditions.
