IBD India has retained the creative duties of Panasonic Consumer Electronics.The brand had recently called for a pitch, and after a 3 month-long pitch process, it decided to renew its contract with IBD. IBD will handle the account for two more years now.
Rahul Guptathe Founder and Managing Director of IBD India is quite happy to have retained the Panasonic‘s business. Talking about the first time IBD got it, he expressed that when IBD first pitched for the business in 2008, they presented a plan with Ranbir Kapoor and it just took me 10 minutes to convince the client. The association with Ranbir and Panasonic too is a long one.
The agency has an office in Gurgaon dedicated to Panasonic Consumer Electronics business wherein 18 people service the account. The business will be led by COO of IBD India, Srikant Rath.
The brand intends to spend around Rs 25-30 crore in advertising the consumer electronics products in this year.
IBD and Panasonic have a long-standing association. They had announced Kapoor as the brand ambassador for the brand’s television product, Viera in 2008. Since then, Kapoor has featured in several ad campaigns from the brand. In the past, in addition to Viera, Kapoor has also endorsed Panasonic’s home theatre system.
One of the first few campaigns for Panasonic, Kapoor featured in was that of its television brand, Viera. As the festive season is approaching, the brand is planning to launch another campaign with the Bollywood star, soon.
