Founded in September 2021, Ionage aims to improve the experience for both charger network operators and EV users, according to the company.
Ionage, an eMobility service provider based in Bengaluru, is spearheading an ambitious initiative to incorporate over 100,000 electric vehicle (EV) chargers into its expansive roaming platform. By 2028, this endeavour aims to empower more than 10,000 Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs) to venture into the burgeoning EV charging domain.
Since its inception in September 2021, Ionage has been dedicated to enhancing the experience for both charger network operators and EV users. The company made strides earlier this year by forging a partnership with SundayGrid, focusing on harnessing solar energy for EV charging. In the upcoming months, Ionage is set to announce a series of strategic collaborations aimed at creating a comprehensive and accessible infrastructure for electric vehicle users. Moreover, the company is actively working to facilitate the installation of EV charging facilities in over 50,000 apartments through partnerships with key players like MG Motors, thereby accelerating the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.
Ionage’s roaming platform is designed to provide holistic solutions for EV owners, enabling seamless charging experiences across various networks and touchpoints, including communities, offices, electric vehicles, and highways. Currently boasting a listing of 3,000 charge points nationwide, Ionage is on track to expand its offerings by adding another 3,000 charge points in the near future, as stated in a media release.
Vimal Kumar V, CEO of Ionage, stated that the company’s mission is to make the EV charging ecosystem accessible to everyone and to speed up the adoption of electric vehicles across India. He explained that their products are intentionally crafted to link and unify the fragmented EV charging infrastructure, creating a smooth and accessible network. The company is committed to resolving the current challenges in the EV charging market, with the ultimate aim of removing obstacles and improving the overall experience of owning an electric vehicle. This effort is part of their contribution to shaping the future of electric mobility in India.
Ionage has formed strategic collaborations with a robust network of partners, including a Fortune 500 oil marketing company, prominent EV manufacturers, well-known community management platforms, and brands such as MG Motors India, 82Volt, Goego Network, Mobilane, and Verdemobility, to integrate the EV sector further. As highlighted in a recent media release, the platform has garnered significant traction, with over 70,000 users and around 15,000 Monthly Active Users (MAUs).
