Kerala Startup Netrasemi Secure Rs 10 Cr In Pre Series A Funding

The company specializes in creating cutting-edge system-on-chips (SoCs) designed to meet the pressing demand for efficient computing in smart IoT products.

Netrasemi, an innovative semiconductor startup based in Kerala, has secured an impressive Rs 10 crore in a Pre Series A funding round led by Unicorn India Ventures. This investment is pivotal for advancing Edge AI technologies tailored for IoT applications. The capital will facilitate the fabrication of two cutting-edge ML SoC chips, named Netra A2000 and Netra R1000, positioning Netrasemi at the forefront of the tech revolution.

Founded in 2020 by Jyothis Indirabhai, Sreejith Varma, and Deepa Geetha, Netrasemi is aiming to revolutionize the Indian semiconductor landscape with its advanced Edge AI technology. The company specializes in creating cutting-edge system-on-chips (SoCs) designed to meet the pressing demand for efficient computing in smart IoT products.

With a team of 61 members, Netrasemi is set to launch a comprehensive suite of AI/ML-enabled SoCs and reference designs, capable of addressing over 100 unique AI/ML applications. This innovation allows for seamless Edge AI product development that is not only efficient but also cost-effective. By integrating these chips into motherboards, Netrasemi empowers products to perform sophisticated AI-driven analytics directly on-site, eliminating the need to transfer data to servers or the cloud. This leads to smarter, more affordable, responsive, and independent devices, paving the way for a new era of intelligent technology.

Over the past year, Netrasemi has garnered positive feedback from major OEMs across multiple countries in the medical, telecom, and industrial sectors. The company has begun to experiencе robust revenue growth, achieving approximately $0.75 million in profits from chip design and porting services for strategic partners. Looking ahead, Netrasemi anticipates a remarkable 150% growth in FY25, primarily driven by intellectual property (IP) revenue. With volume production of chips expected to commence in FY27, the company is poised for exponential growth, solidifying its position in the market and contributing to the broader adoption of Edge AI technologies.

According to Anil Joshi, Managing Partner, Unicorn India Ventures, Netrasemi has created a high-performance chip family comprising Netra-R1000, Netra-A2000, and Netra-A4000. These ML-capable System on Chips (SoCs) leverage the company’s efficient Domain Specific Architecture (DSA) and patented graph-stream hardware acceleration. Designed for various applications, they are both power-efficient and competitively priced, making them ideal for the edge market. Netrasemi’s chips enable solution providers to rapidly develop advanced ML and vision applications with ease.
