Kinetic Engineering has created a new subsidiary called Kinetic Watts & Volts which was established in September 2022, aims to primary focus on EV components. It wants to ensure a smooth and efficient path to electrification by offering key components like motors, controllers, and batteries from one reliable source, the company addresses a critical challenge faced by EV manufacturers – sourcing these crucial parts from multiple suppliers. This streamlining allows potential EV customers, whether established players or new entrants, to concentrate on sales and marketing.
The Managing Director of Kinetic Engineering stated that they formed Kinetic Watts & Volts with a vision to provide integrated solutions, offering the key three components of motors, controllers, and batteries from one source to potential EV customers, whether they are small players or bigger ones. The objective is to ensure that their future customers need not worry about sourcing these key parts from multiple standalone suppliers but instead focus on sales and marketing of their vehicles, while Kinetic Watts & Volts handles all the manufacturing.
They are also planning to merge their existing EV businesses under KEL and Kinetic Communications into the new company. This move will strengthen their focus on EV components and improve their delivery. Kinetic Watts & Volts has already made its mark in the industry by getting its first customer, Kinetic Green, a sister concern founded by Sulajja Firodia Motwani. This shows their commitment to supporting a wide range of customers, from big players to startups. They are further extending their customers base with companies like E-blu and E-fill.
To improve its abilities and grow further, the new firm is willing to share around 25% of its ownership with a strategic or financial partner. Kinetic Watts & Volts is strongly supported by Kinetic Engineering, owning 92%, and the Firodia family, owning the remaining 8%.
