Smart homes in India continue to get smarter. With so many new smart home devices being unveiled at expos every year,, the ways that people implement the Internet of Things (IoT) into their homes are becoming more seamless and commonplace. In just a few short years, LED lighting has taken the world by storm, being implemented across the globe as the most environmentally friendly and practical solutions for home lighting.

Now, LED lighting is more common than florescent or incandescent lighting. This is in large part due to the many advantages of LED lighting in the domestic setting, including the fact that homes wired with LEDs may assure better rates for homeowners looking for protection at a lower monthly cost. Some people may argue that LED lighting is a demonstrative and revolutionary cornerstone in the domestic space that will allow the entire IoT to reach its full potential in homes.

The advantages of LED lighting for homes
Now that LED lighting is more widespread then it was just a few years ago, it is clear that more people have recognize the number of advantages to this innovation. One of the main benefits of LEDs is their efficiency and duration. On average, the typical LED light bulb  will last anywhere from 25,000 to 100,000 hours, depending on the heat settings and wattage.

LEDs also light more quickly and come in a variety of convenient sizes and colors without filters. In terms of brightness, they are less fragile and more flexible, providing a cost-efficient and eco-friendly option in most applications. While in the past the price of LED lights was a major setback for some homeowners, now the cost has been lowered—including the overall lifetime operating expense, which proves to be much cheaper than older styles of fights.

How LEDs augment the IoT revolution
In addition to all of these advantages, LED lights are a vital component of the IOT revolution due to their control and data. Most LED lights are compatible with digital controls as a result of them having a low-voltage semiconductor. This means that these lights can be controlled with microchip micro controllers, essentially creating a smart light system for homes.

While this may not seem revolutionary, it is important to remember that lighting is literally required everywhere. For businesses, outdoors, and our homes, lighting is continually a major contributor to cost of energy usage. Equipping lighting with microprocessors and sensors means that lighting cannot only be turned on and off from a remote place, but the lights can also collect important information about usage. In time, this will prevent homeowners and businesses from overextending their resources, saving people money and simultaneously saving the environment.

LED lighting is a revolutionary innovation for homes, offering people a much-needed solution to save energy, money and resources with a simple and smarter application.
