Madhya Pradesh Secures ₹25.64B Investments In IT Summit

Reinforcing the state’s tech hub ambitions, the Madhya Pradesh IT Summit at GIS 2025 secured ₹25.64 billion in investments, eyeing to create 183,400 jobs.

The Madhya Pradesh government’s Department of Science and Technology hosted an IT and Technology Summit on the opening day of the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025 in Bhopal on Monday. Uniting several stakeholders from the IT, electronics and semiconductor sectors, the event saw a series of investment pledges, totalling ₹25.64 billion, which are expected to create around 183,400 jobs.

The summit showcased the state’s ambition to become a leading technology hub in India, with a focus on attracting investments, fostering partnerships, and driving discussions on transforming the region into a global centre for tech and global capability centres (GCCs).

Among the major deals that were signed, Kaynes Technology committed ₹3.52 billion for SMT manufacturing at Bhopal’s IT Park, generating 1650 jobs. The electronics manufacturing industry was boosted by ELCINA’s ₹10-12 billion investment.

Meanwhile, there were numerous pledges for GCC too. Digital Convergence Technologies announced ₹2 billion, creating 500 jobs, while, Tholons Inc. pledged ₹5 billion for GCC investments, along with an additional ₹50 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI), resulting in 40,000 jobs.

Furthermore, to support startups, IITI DRISHTI CPS Foundation announced plans for a new incubation centre. The summit also saw the signing of key MoUs with global tech companies such as IBM, Microsoft, and Barclays.

“We have decided to celebrate the year 2025 as the Year of Industry and Employment, marking a new era of economic growth and job creation in Madhya Pradesh,” noted an elated Dr Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, highlighting these deals.

S. Krishnan, the secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), was one of the dignitaries who was there at the event. “To truly empower India, we must focus not just on digital expansion but also on creating jobs, value addition, and strengthening the semiconductor supply chain, ” he said.

The event concluded with the MP Innovest Startup Pitching Contest, where emerging startups presented their innovations to secure funding and partnerships.

There were other high-profile panellists, including government officials and industry leaders as well, who participated in discussions on topics such as semiconductor manufacturing and drone policies. Many of them applauded the efforts put in by the MP government.

“Madhya Pradesh’s latest Madhya Pradesh Global Capability Centers Policy 2025 has been drafted with a lot of clarity and focus on AI, cybersecurity, and product engineering which makes it an attractive destination for global enterprises,” added Anand Chitre, MD, Barclays.
