Powering the electrified future, Microchip joins forces with Delta Electronics to fast-track energy-efficient silicon carbide solutions for AI, mobility, and smart infrastructure applications.
Microchip Technology recently announced a collaboration with Delta Electronics to advance silicon carbide (SiC) technology for cutting-edge power management applications.
According to the company, the agreement combines Microchip’s mSiC™ product line with Delta’s smart energy and power solutions, targeting high-growth sectors like artificial intelligence (AI), mobility, and infrastructure.
As demand grows for more efficient, high-voltage systems, the partnership will focus on accelerating the development of SiC-based solutions that offer improved power efficiency, reduced size, and lower overall system costs.
Delta will incorporate Microchip’s SiC MOSFETs, diodes, and gate drivers into its product designs, enhancing performance across its global portfolio.
Commenting on the matter, Clayton Pillion, Vice President of Microchip’s High-Power Solutions Unit, said, “SiC technology is crucial for meeting the demands of electrification and energy efficiency. Working closely with Delta, we aim to deliver cutting-edge solutions that support a sustainable energy future.”
The partnership also includes top-level technical collaboration. Delta will gain early access to Microchip’s mSiC products, receive technical training, and benefit from insight into ongoing R&D efforts. This approach aims to shorten development cycles and speed up market readiness.
Delta, a global player in power management, views this alliance as a means to fast-track its energy-efficient product development.
With more than two decades of experience in SiC technology, Microchip brings proven design, manufacturing, and support capabilities to the collaboration. Its mSiC product range supports both standard and customised needs across multiple industries.
