Aiming to boost manufacturing digitalisation and efficiency with simplified automation solutions, Mitsubishi Electric India invests in Itanta Analytics to develop no-code data analysis tools.
Last week, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation revealed that its fully owned subsidiary, Mitsubishi Electric India Pvt Ltd, will acquire a stake in the Indian software startup Gervigreind Data Science, which operates under the name ‘Itanta Analytics.’
With this, Mitsubishi India aims to develop jointly and market no-code applications for data analysis and report generation. It plans to integrate these applications with its factory automation (FA) equipment and software to support the digital transformation of manufacturing sites.
In a statement, Mitsubishi Electric said the collaboration aims to “strengthen its FA digital solutions business and contribute to the digitalisation of manufacturing sites” by combining the startup’s time- and cost-saving applications with Mitsubishi’s own technologies.
The applications will work in conjunction with Mitsubishi Electric’s FA equipment and GENESIS64™, a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software developed by Mitsubishi Electric’s U.S. subsidiary, ICONICS, Inc.
Mitsubishi Electric intends to grow its FA digital solutions business on a global scale by leveraging the partner’s expertise in applications. The company stated that as part of its broader transformation strategy to become a ‘circular digital engineering’ firm, it is investing in and working with software firms to enhance automation and digitalisation in various manufacturing processes, from design and production to maintenance.
In India, where the manufacturing sector is experiencing growth but also facing challenges like labour shortages and rising costs, there is a strong demand for user-friendly software that can help improve efficiency.
Under these circumstances, Mitsubishi Electric looks to develop environments that simplify system construction without requiring complex programming.
Itanta Analytics, founded in 2019 and based in Pune, India, specialises in a no-code platform designed for industrial analytics and reporting. Its solutions cover the entire process, from data acquisition to distribution, focusing on simplifying engineering through a no-code approach.
