Expanding its aerospace footprint, Motherson lands Tier 1 supplier role with Airbus; with a multi-year contract to deliver high-quality components from Bengaluru.
Motherson, a global manufacturer of aerospace components and assemblies, has been named a Tier 1 supplier to Airbus commercial aircraft. Through its subsidiary, CIM Tools India Pvt Ltd, the company has secured a multi-year contract to produce and deliver aerospace components directly to Airbus’ final assembly lines.
These supplies will be sourced from Motherson’s specialised aerospace facility in Bengaluru, India. Already a Tier 1 supplier for Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Defence and Space, Motherson is now expanding its role within Airbus’s commercial aircraft sector.
Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman of Motherson, thanked Airbus for the trust placed in the company and emphasised that this milestone highlights Motherson’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, stringent quality standards, and commitment to timely delivery.
“Our team is committed to delivering the highest quality components and assemblies. We look forward to strengthening our partnership,” he noted.
Kunal Bajaj, President of Motherson’s Aerospace Business Division, noted that this new Tier 1 status will foster business growth with Airbus.
“This new status reflects our ongoing investments in advanced manufacturing technologies and quality systems to serve our global aerospace customers and their growing production needs. The recent recognition underscores our commitment to excellence and strategic role in the aerospace supply chain,” he said.
Motherson’s Aerospace Business Division operates 16 facilities across four countries, providing aerospace components for all sections of an aircraft.
