Navitas says it will vigorously contest Wolfspeed’s patent infringement lawsuit while continuing to focus on expanding its GaN and SiC power semiconductor business.
Navitas Semiconductor has rejected the patent infringement allegations brought against it by Wolfspeed, stating that it will strongly defend both its technologies and products in court while continuing to execute its business strategy.
The company acknowledged that Wolfspeed has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Although Navitas said it would not comment in detail because the matter is under litigation, it described the claims as unfounded and expressed confidence that it would succeed in the legal proceedings.
Navitas emphasised that its portfolio of gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor technologies has been developed through years of independent research, engineering, and investment. The company said its innovations are protected by a substantial global intellectual property portfolio and are the result of decades of technology development.
The company also reiterated its commitment to respecting intellectual property rights, while maintaining that the lawsuit lacks merit. According to Navitas, the legal action is an attempt by Wolfspeed to gain a competitive advantage outside normal market competition.
Despite the ongoing litigation, Navitas said the dispute will not affect its operational focus. The company plans to continue expanding its presence in the fast-growing market for next-generation power semiconductors, where demand for high-efficiency GaN and SiC devices is increasing across applications such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, AI data centers, and industrial power systems.
Navitas added that, given the pending legal proceedings, it does not intend to provide further public comments on the case at this stage.
The company also reminded investors that statements regarding the outcome of the litigation, future business performance, and growth prospects are forward-looking in nature. Such statements are subject to uncertainties and risks, including those outlined in its filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and actual results may differ materially depending on future developments.
