Aiming to support Asian customers, Dutch contract chip manufacturer NTS has opened a new facility in Singapore to assemble sophisticated mechatronic systems in pristine cleanroom environments.
NTS, a Netherlands-based contract manufacturer for the semiconductor industry, has inaugurated a new facility in Singapore. According to the company, this site will be a hub for its Asian clients, specialising in developing, producing, assembling, and testing complex (opto-)mechatronic systems and mechanical modules designed for cleanroom environments.
The new facility combines assembly and manufacturing operations in a production and office space. Its construction began in May 2022 and was completed in adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards. The automated site will minimise reliance on manual labour.
According to NTS CEO Frans van Lierop, the location has also played an important role amidst the rising global demand for ultraprecision components.
He further noted that the facility enables full vertical integration, allowing clients to benefit from laser welding and fully validated end integrations without requiring product transportation. This capability will lead to faster production, higher quality, and better client cost efficiency.
For this project, NTS collaborated with its long-time partner, ESR-LOGOS REIT, a company specialising in industrial real estate in Singapore.
Adrian Chui, CEO and Executive Director of ESR-LOGOS Funds Management expressed pride in partnering with NTS, highlighting their mutual commitment to providing high-quality, tailored solutions that meet evolving tenant needs and supporting NTS’s growth and success.
