Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus announced today that it is all set to launch three new retail stores in India. These retail stores will be established in the three metros – Kolkata, Mumbai and Kolkata on July 28. This move has been taken to allow the company’s users get better access to offline stores and service centres and thereby enhance customer experience in the country.

More focus on the offline market that has grown at 91 per cent

The Shenzhen-based company has declared that it plans to open over 10 new offline stores of OnePlus in the country along with an R&D centre – the latter being the second global headquarter.

Vikas Agarwal, general manager of OnePlus India, said: “We are looking to increase our focus on offline to reach out to the large majority of the Indian market that prefers touch-and-feel stores for experience before purchase. However, we will continue to be a digital-first brand.”

In 2017, the company had launched its first retail store in Bengaluru as the ‘OnePlus Experience Store’. In an official statement, it said that since the opening of the retail store in Bengaluru last year, the company’s both offline and online sales have increased exponentially. “When compared with the OnePlus 5, OnePlus 6 sales volumes in the OnePlus Experience Store grew at a staggering 91 percent,” the statement added.

Free gifts for registered customers and students

The smartphone company has also announced its plans to give the first 100 customers an OnePlus6 Marvel Avengers Iron Man case and OnePlus branded T-shirts. Also, students who visit the store on the launch day will stand a chance to win an OnePlus Back to School package. Customers that participate in ‘Bring-a-Friend’ contest will stand a chance to win free OnePlus 5/5T accessories. Registrations for the event had started on June 28 on the company’s official website.

The new Bengaluru outlet will be opened in 4th Block, Jayanagar whereas in Kolkata, the store will be located in Prince Anwar Shah Road and in Mumbai, it will be opened in the Seawoods Grands Central Mall.
