With over 150K EVs sold in India, JSW MG Motor India brings Parth Jindal to the top role as it prepares for its next growth phase.
JSW MG Motor India has appointed Parth Jindal as its chairman with immediate effect, adding a senior JSW Group executive to the top leadership position at the automaker.
Jindal has been part of the company’s board since the joint venture between JSW Group and SAIC Motor was established. During this period, he has been involved in key areas including product planning, manufacturing expansion, and increasing localisation of the company’s operations in India.
Jindal currently holds several leadership positions across the JSW Group. He serves as managing director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints, chairman of JSW Dulux, and director on the board of JSW Energy. He is also the founder of JSW Sports and chairman and co-owner of Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals.
The leadership change comes as JSW MG Motor India continues to expand its presence in India’s electric vehicle market and strengthen its manufacturing footprint.
The company has sold more than 150,000 electric vehicles in India since launching its first EV in the country. The MG Windsor has emerged as the company’s best-selling electric vehicle in the Indian market.
The appointment places Jindal at the helm as the automaker works to broaden its electric vehicle portfolio and scale local manufacturing. The company’s strategy has increasingly focused on combining MG’s automotive technology and product portfolio with JSW Group’s investment and manufacturing capabilities.
JSW MG Motor India was formed as a joint venture between JSW Group and China’s SAIC Motor, with the partnership aimed at building a stronger automotive manufacturing and EV business in India.
Jindal’s continued involvement in product strategy, manufacturing and localisation is expected to support the company’s next phase of expansion as competition in India’s electric vehicle market intensifies.
