Taking charge as the CEO of ISM, Amitesh Kumar Sinha’s deep policy expertise is set to drive India’s $500B ESDM vision and global semiconductor ambitions.
The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) has appointed Amitesh Kumar Sinha as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at a critical phase in India’s semiconductor growth strategy.
Sinha brings a strong track record in public policy and electronics industry development, having previously served in senior roles within the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and ISM.
He was instrumental in designing and implementing the Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing Programme, as well as the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes for electronics and IT hardware.
With Sinha now at the helm, ISM hopes to take strategic steps forward in its vision to establish India as a competitive global destination for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. It also aims to play a central role in achieving India’s target of a $500 billion Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry by 2030.
The industry expects that his leadership will strengthen policy execution and streamline collaboration between industry stakeholders and government bodies.
Welcoming Sinha’s appointment, Ashok Chandak, President of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and SEMI India, expressed optimism about the sector’s trajectory.
“We look forward to collaborating with Mr. Sinha to accelerate ESDM growth, deliver SEMICON India 2025 with SEMI Global, and reinforce India’s position in the global semiconductor ecosystem,” Chandak said.
The IESA Executive Council, SEMI IESA team, and other industry players have extended their full support to Sinha as he takes charge of this vital national initiative.
