After Alok Ohrie departs, Manish Gupta steps in to lead Dell Technologies India as its President and MD, promising strategies, tech innovation, and customer-first transformation.
Dell Technologies has appointed Manish Gupta as its new President and Managing Director for India, effective immediately. Based in Bengaluru, Gupta will report directly to Peter Marrs, president of Asia Pacific Japan and Greater China (APJC).
The leadership change follows the departure of Alok Ohrie, who, according to the company, is stepping down to spend more time with family and focus on personal pursuits.
In his new role, Gupta will be responsible for steering Dell’s strategic direction and driving sales growth across the Indian market.
Peter Marrs welcomed the appointment, stating, “His exceptional blend of technical expertise, deep market understanding, and visionary leadership will be instrumental in driving growth and innovation. Manish’s unwavering focus on customer success, partner collaboration, talent development, and innovation will further solidify Dell’s position as an industry leader.”
Gupta brings more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry. Over the past decade, he has held key leadership roles at Dell, including Vice President of the Infrastructure Solutions Group in India. Most recently, he managed global alliances, channel engagement, and other initiatives for the APJC region.

Gupta is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and holds an engineering degree from Panjab University. He also completed a Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship in Leadership in Management at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.
