Tata Electronics Appoints Deepa Salvan to Strategic Transactions Role

As former JBIC executive Deepa Salvan joins Tata Electronics, what could this leadership move mean for India’s semiconductor ambitions?

Tata Electronics has appointed Deepa Salvan as head of strategic transactions, bringing on board an executive with more than two decades of experience in international finance and India-Japan investment cooperation.

Salvan joins the company from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), where she most recently served as head of finance and investment cooperation. Her appointment comes as Tata Electronics continues to expand its presence in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.

Announcing her move on LinkedIn, Salvan described the appointment as an opportunity to enter a new industry while taking on fresh challenges. She said she was looking forward to contributing to Tata Electronics’ efforts to develop a world-class semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem and support India’s role in global supply chains.

Salvan spent more than 18 years at JBIC, where she led finance and investment cooperation initiatives, working extensively on projects linked to the India-Japan economic corridor. Her experience includes facilitating cross-border investment and financing activities across sectors.

Before joining JBIC, she worked at ICICI Bank as credit manager for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), where she gained experience in credit assessment and banking operations.

In her LinkedIn post, Salvan also said she was eager to work alongside colleagues across the organisation, highlighting opportunities for learning, collaboration and contributing to the company’s long-term objectives.
