Targamerica is the sole open-top Battista in existence.
Automobili Pininfarina recently revealed the Battista Targamerica, marking it as the world’s inaugural coach-built electric hypercar, specially commissioned by a distinguished car collector who is also a current Battista owner. This unique vehicle made its first appearance at The Quail, a notable event during Monterey Car Week, signifying the brand’s debut into client-commissioned coach-built cars.
The commission for the Battista Targamerica took place at the 2023 Monterey Car Week, with the delivery scheduled for the same event in 2024. Named ‘Targamerica’, the vehicle pays homage to its Targa-style open-top design and its American home base. Designed to meet the precise and personalized requirements of its owner, this electric hypercar represents a unique venture for Pininfarina.
The design of the Targamerica draws inspiration from the exclusive 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider, also a Pininfarina creation, and it stands as the only Battista to exhibit a Targa open-top body style. This design choice required extensive modifications, particularly to the rear quarter and luggage area, to accommodate the open-top structure.
The Targamerica is presented in silver with accents in blue and black. Notably, the underside of its rear wing features hand-painted Icona Blue pinstripes. Additionally, it boasts custom-designed ceramic-polished five-spoke alloy wheels with black aluminium centre caps, personalized door plates, and a specially crafted brushed and anodized jewellery pack.
Crafted by the skilled artisans at Cambiano in collaboration with Pininfarina SpA, the Targamerica is a bespoke masterpiece, declared by Dave Amantea, chief design officer at Automobili Pininfarina, as a singular creation that will not be replicated.
Internally, the Targamerica is decked in tan leather, with contrasting black leather details on the steering wheel and dashboard. It features unique headrests embossed with the Pininfarina ‘F’ logo and other distinct interior design elements tailored to the owner’s taste.
From a mechanical standpoint, the Targamerica mirrors the standard hypercar specifications, equipped with a quad-motor system — one for each wheel — delivering 1,900 horsepower and 2,340 Nm of torque. Powered by a 120kWh battery, it supports charging up to 180kW. The Targamerica Battista boasts impressive performance, accelerating from 0-100kph in under 2 seconds, and reaching speeds exceeding 300kph.
